Larry Sue (“Low Ding Doc”)

LarryLarry Sue (“Low Ding Doc”) is the Artistic Figurehead and conceptual founder of Low Ding Zone.

He has been ringing since 1987, having become a bass specialist out of necessity, then from choice, and finally through addiction. It amazes people that he still knows how to locate and identify bells above C6.

His ringing experience includes sixteen years with Valley Ringers (Valley Church, Cupertino, CA), eight years with Son Ringers (First Presbyterian Church, Mountain View, CA), several rounds at Distinctly Bronze West and the excitement of ringing in the Deep Pit at the Bay View Week of Handbells.

He directs Bells’ Angels at Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church (Saratoga, CA); co-directs Alleluia Ringers at Los Altos United Methodist Church (Los Altos, CA); and has been tied to Bay Bells (Palo Alto, CA) from time to time.

He also does a fair amount of conducting and teaching at handbell festivals, and is a published handbell composer/arranger. He is the author of the Bass Ringer’s Notebook.
